The powerful documentary tells the story of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old gay man murdered in Laramie, Wyoming in October, 1998. His murder made headlines around the world and set the stage for historic anti-hate crime legislation. Directed by a close personal friend and produced by a former Facing History student, the film examines the dangers of hatred and intolerance through a truly personal lens.

Following the screening, we will be in conversation with a panel including filmmaker Michele Josue about the role that we all, especially parents, can play in shaping inclusive schools and communities.

This event is supported by The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado, a program of the Gill Foundation, and Rose Women's Organization, a program of the and Rose Community Foundation Rose Community Foundation.
